The Price of Freedom

I spent five years saving James from himself, meticulously measuring his meals and managing a liver he was determined to destroy. He rewarded my devotion by calling it a cage, trading our marriage for the "excitement" of a younger woman and the junk food I had kept at bay. So, I did the kindest thing possible: I let him go.
