Ashes of My Ex

In the sterile, high-stakes world of Metropolitan Police Forensics, precision is everything—until a single body bag tears it all apart. Sophie Wells was the department’s rising star, but when her mentor and lover, the legendary George Harrington, suffered a violent meltdown over a corpse he mistakenly believed was his long-lost soulmate, Sophie became the convenient sacrificial lamb. Now, stripped of her career and crucified by a viral public backlash, she retreats to the shadows of her family’s crematorium business. But as the "dead" begin to reappear and the suspicious circumstances of her own mother’s death come to light, Sophie realizes that the morgue wasn't the end of her story—it was just the training ground. Armed with a scalpel and a thirst for vindication, she’s stepping out of the autopsy suite to settle every debt, one body at a time.
